When our daughter married last April, we made the invitations ourselves. As a graphic artist, Jessica knew what she wanted. She designed the invitations, I bought the linen and printed them. They were beautiful and the bride and groom were pleased with the results, but it was something of a task and not the kind of project every mother-of-the-bride wants to tackle in the weeks before the big day.
Today I learned of a company that produces beautiful wedding invitations and other social stationery. Most printers we considered offered a few designs that were fairly similar. Hello Lucky has a real range of styles, from very formal to modern to fun and quirky. The category styles reflect this diversity:
- exotic
- formal
- whimsical
- elegant
- floral
- modern
- vintage
- rustic
- beach
- destination
Another offering you don't often see is that of letterpress wedding invitations. Letterpress printing inks a raised, reversed surface that is then pressed onto paper. Think Gutenberg press. If you want to add real artistry to your invitations, this is for you.
In this digital age, you may not often think of stationers, but there is great charm in having printed Christmas cards and photo birth announcements. And personalized stationery makes a fabulous gift!

Great info, Alison. I’ll keep this in mind for future reference.
