Remorse: we have Godly sorrow for our sin
Relating: we confess our sin to the Lord and, if necessary, to our leaders
Restitution: we do all we can to right the wrong
Resolution: we have firm resolve to forsake our sin
Reformation: we act on the resolution by changing our behavior
Realization: we realize the happiness that comes from righteous living

Alma 37:9. Prophet Alma defines repentance. “To have the knowledge of the Lord and to rejoice in Jeses Christ. ” 5 R’s would be. Respect, Relationship, Remember, Redeemed, Rejoice. Having the relation with the Lord and rejoicing with Him takes sin out of the picture. Repentance does not address sin, it addresses our relationship with the Lord. Different paradigm from what has been taught but Alma is the source and he was a prophet of the Lord.
