Monica (15): Why are there so many people who don't vote? Can't they decide?
Mom: Some have good reasons, but many are just too lazy.
Monica: Too lazy? Too lazy??? Too lazy to choose who runs our country???? That's stupid!
Alison Moore Smith is a 61-year-old entrepreneur who graduated from BYU in 1987. She has been (very happily) married to Samuel M. Smith for 40 years. They are parents of six incredible children and grandparents to two astounding grandsons. She is the author of The 7 Success Habits of Homeschoolers.
Too stupid indeed, They don’t know that they can make a difference by just voting…
Hmmm… so… people who don’t vote… are lazy… so… since Obama’s victory has been very much attributed to the Democrats getting out the vote… Democrats are less lazy than Republicans? Must be.
Americans on the whole are lazy about their liberty. Given the voting turnout in any election, this is obvious.
I don’t know that your partisan snark stands to reason. Personally I think that there are simply more people who want to be given stuff in American than want to do anything difficult…like work for the stuff they want. That’s what we’ve come to. Send me my Obama phone.
“Partisan snark”? That’s rich coming from you. The next post link on this page is the “smoker in chief” one. This blog should be called “Alison’s Partisan Snark o’ the Day”.
Ryan, taking a post that is about general civil sloth and making it about which party is worse is partisan.
Pointing out the inconsistency of a woman who wants to dictate health choices to the masses, while her husband puffs away to curb his nicotine addiction has nothing whatsoever to do with partisanship.
