[After being told that he can't play Wii because it's Sunday and hearing the discussion between Mom and Samson (8) about Fast Sunday.]
Caleb (4): Heavenly Father, bless it not to be Fast Sunday any more.
[Begins to turn on video console.]
Mom: Caleb, remember we don't play video games on Sunday.
Caleb: But mom, it's not Sunday anymore. I said a prayer and now it's over really fast.
Alison Moore Smith is a 61-year-old entrepreneur who graduated from BYU in 1987. She has been (very happily) married to Samuel M. Smith for 40 years. They are parents of six incredible children and grandparents to two astounding grandsons. She is the author of The 7 Success Habits of Homeschoolers.
If Caleb marries my youngest daughter, their kids will be scary.
Scary in a good way…
Don’t we all feel that way on Fast Sunday?
On Fast Sundays and some other days that would be great!
Isn’t it funny how we want some days to hurry up, and then realize how we wish we had had more times for moments?
Sorry… that might not make the most sense but I am just really grateful tonight. At first I was frustrated at being up another late night rocking a baby to sleep and entertaining his older sister who has to sleep in the front room because the swamp cooler doesn’t cool her room sufficient enough and so she is up because he is up…, when it hit me to be grateful. To cherish the moments, because I would rather bear the burden of exhaustion then the trial of heartache that others must endure…. my cousin’s wife miscarried the other day, so this has been weighing on my heart, that I need to remember to be grateful more 🙂
Nice to hear your heart, Lewis.
Wonderful sentiment, Lewis.
I love your son’s comments, Alison. He reminds me of my youngest!
Lewis, that is great perspective. Cherish the moments… Thanks for the reminder to do that in my own life.
You are so right Lewis. There are some days I get so tired and the little granddaughters give me a run for my money. But not to have them would just be awful!!! And to have 6 dear ones who live 3 hours away is hard and I wished I had enjoyed them more when we lived together. Time is running by just way to fast!
Ah! Talk about time, my little man is turning 6 months tomorrow!
it’s seems like yesterday lewis!!!!
I know! I have some videos I am uploading of him today, so feel free to check them out 🙂
Well, at least Caleb gets the whole faith part . . . 🙂
