New Year's Day was 3-year-old Cricket's first day in Primary. We have been talking about it for about a month now, and he informed me the day before that he didn't like nursery, and he wasn't going to go anymore (lol). Grasshopper has been dutifully praying for his success and trying to teach him everything he would need to know to be in Primary. We were pleased to find out that his teacher is someone he already knows fairly well.
As he climbed into the car in the morning, he exclaimed, “I don't have my scriptures! If I don't have my scriptures, I won't get a talk!” (I didn't realize he knew they were supposed to have scriptures, and we didn't have time to find them.) I mentioned his comment to the Primary president when I dropped him off, and she went out on a limb and actually assigned him a talk for the next week! I know that is a little unusual, but he is so excited. He loves to pretend to give talks at home.
Working in Primary is not an easy calling and is often very demanding. I am really grateful to all those people that serve our children in Primary and strive to make it special not just for the group, but also for the “one.”
