[On Christmas Eve, Samuel and Monica stood in the living room, surveying the tree and surroundings.]
Sam: It looks like we overdid it on Christmas again this year.
Monica (11): I think we'll manage.

*sigh* It is so difficult to manage something like this! lol. Have fun muddling through all of it!
The girls told us about the following conversation that happened this morning when they first woke up, before gathering to come downstairs.
L (6) complaining, thought Santa didn’t get her picture she drew for him.
Girls: “How do you know?”
L: “It got lost. Santa didn’t have time to look for it.”
Js: “Santa makes time.”
L, matter-of-factly: “Santa makes toys.”
Girls laugh.
L: “What? I was just correcting her.”
She is 6, going on 18.
Too funny. I hope she also found out that Santa makes time. 🙂
Samson just realized as we were hanging the stockings last night that Santa never came to the ward Christmas party–and we didn’t see him anytime later, either. First year EVER that we didn’t talk to Santa. He did make a Christmas list and I assured him Santa was able to see it by scan and email.
So cute! We stood in line for 2.5 hours to see santa on Monday night. Ugh. Not even given a candy cane. I felt like crud on Tuesday.
My girls sent a letter to santa and got they each got one in return! I’m amazed by the US Postal Service….they still do the free personalized return letters! They also included a 2008 rudolph ornament in each one also.
Christmas Eve we hosted my maternal grandparents in addition to my mom, brother & sister in law. It was quaint and lovely. As the grandparents left we found a bag of secret santa gifts on the front porch! So nice. Honestly the best family gift (a cool new game) we got this year was from someone we didn’t even know.
We got our settlement but didn’t go overboard…..but we did get a used nearly perfect condition SUV a week ago. Its red! In Feb we are planning an overly extravagent birthday adventure to Disneyland…..for Moi!
How fun, Delmar! I am glad your settlement is finally settled. It’s been a long haul.
