A friend of mine just posted this FaceBook status:

sometimes i wish i could just see who my wife is going to be…….i'm tired of getting let down…heck i'm just tired of trying. yea i know everyone is gonna say oh don't worry it will all work out….you know what? right now i just don't care…..

It's easy to dismiss such things. Mont is young, talented, funny, and handsome. He has his whole life ahead of him, so much potential, and certainly lots of love coming his way. Truth is, in all likelihood, his love life will all work out in time. He'll find the love of his life and they'll have the life he dreams of. But that doesn't change the very real heartache he's feeling today, from this side of the love he's looking for. Most of our pain is temporary, but it still seems unbearable at times.

Time is a great healer, but so is perspective. Failure is valuable if we choose to learn the lessons hiding in it. Maybe the lesson is simply: she's not my perfect match, one less person to wonder about. Maybe it's something more.

Hang in there, Mont. You're one step closer to what you're looking for. It will all work out. You have great things in store.
