Wicked Fresh

A dear friend of mine grew up in a family of six that was half vegetarian and half carnivore. When we met, I had never known anyone who eschewed meat (no pun intended) and hardly understood the concept at all. The family was so committed to their healthy lifestyle that they opened a natural foods store that has now grown into five stores. That growth mirrors our country’s familiarity with — and acceptance of — more natural ways of doing things.

One of the leaders in this movement is Tom’s Of Maine. This 40-year-old company was obviously ahead of the curve. It is a natural products company focused on oral and persona care. They offer toothpaste, dental floss, mouthwash, deodorant, and soap that meet their stringent requirements: no animal testing; complete disclosure about ingredients; no artificial colors, flavors, fragrance, preservatives; maximum recycled contend and recyclability of packaging. Good stuff.
