No surprises for me…. if I HAD to pick one, it would probably be Odd Girl Out. I don’t recall anyone here every talking about having an overly aggressive daughter. But with so many of us going in and out of YW, I’m sure we’ve all had to deal with it at some point.
That was from one of the bullies conversation. Girls bully differently than the boys, emotionally rather than physically in general. Frankly, I think it’s worse. I’d rather get punched. It’s a great book.
It seems a shame to admit that I have only read one of the books on the list. Number 4 in case you wondered! 😉
Great list….some I have read, but most I have not…I’m copying it to my Palm to use to purchase them in the future….
Nope, no surprises. They mostly all look like books I would be interested in reading (if I had time to read). I actually bought #1 a year ago and have yet to read it.
Tink…I’m with you, I have shelves of books that I really wanted to read & have bought, but have yet to read them….where do the days go??????
I think that can be summed up in three words, and they apply to most of us:
Nursing (career), RS Pres (church calling), and husbands (or children, take your pick).
I don’t read much, but #4 and #8 are FANTASTIC! Stephen E. Robinson was a speaker at Time Out for Women a couple years ago and was so GREAT!! I want him to come teach our Sunday School class! I came home and went straight to my computer and bought both books from Half.com. I’m cheap like that, ya know. haha… Those two books are easy reads and definitely worth the time.
I took a New Testament class from Stephen Robinson at BYU in the late 80s or early 90s, and it was not only the best religion class I ever had, it was one of the best classes, period, of my entire college career.
I love your book list! I am so glad to hear from the rest of you that you have a hard time finding time to read. I thought it was just me!!! I am going to read some of them though as I have a new calling coming up in two weeks(was called on Sunday but they are waiting for mother’s day–great present) and I will need to know my books really well. I was doing the May Relief Society calendar and could not read my writing so went to the Book store and the book we are to read for april was A Heart like His!!! I have loved it. Started reading it as soon as I walked in the door. Almost done!! Strange thing happened too while at the bookstore. A little voice told me to buy next month’s choice too and get it read!!! So I heeded the little voice and now I know why!!! Will tell on MOthers Day what the calling is!!!

I like the books listed in the left side too. We have to learn our history if we are ever going to recover from this economy and all the government stuff.

My personal favorite is #2. We read The Bottom Line on Integrity in the old book club in 2007.
