This Sunday morning, while eating breakfast, Grasshopper (7 years old) told me that she was going to ask the Primary President if they could learn a pioneer song. Knowing that the music leader is working at the very edge of her abilities and that the Primary is struggling to learn the songs for the Sacrament Meeting presentation, I did not expect a positive response to her request. But after Primary today, after they spoke, the Primary President came over to me as she was asking Grasshopper to have her mom help her write down the song she wants to learn and give it to her next week.
Honestly, Grasshopper would have been fine if she was told that it was not possible to sing an additional song. She takes things like that in stride. Yet they chose to do this thing that would give her joy. know that it is a small thing, but it meant so much to her and to me, too. I thank our Heavenly Father for wonderful leaders who can see the Christ's vision of using the programs of the Church to minister to the individual rather than the other way around.

Wow, I thought I proofread this! Sorry, folks!
Nice story (yes, I’m behind reading). Sometimes leaders can get so caught up in rules and plans that they don’t see the people. Nice to hear how this turned out.
