One of the great features the city of Lindon, Utah, provides for homeowners is irrigation water. We had culinary water for cooking, drinking, and bathing, as usual, but we also have irrigation water that is used for yards and gardens.
Because it requires less processing, the irrigation water is significantly less expensive, making yard and garden care much more affordable.
This past week, the city turned the irrigation water back on, which signals the residents that it's time to get back to work in our yards.
Unfortunately, a pipe—put in under our driveway hastily by the concrete workers—broke over the winter. That has left Sam trying to tunnel in a repair, which requires hours and hours of work. We can't turn on the lawn sprinklers until the fix is completed.
Once we get the sprinklers back on and the yard back up to snuff, we'll be looking at the projects we want to tackle this summer. Here are some of the things we are planning:
- Dead plants replaced
- Front porch perennial garden planted
- Trellis installed adjacent to patio bed, climbing bulbs planted
- Square foot garden area completed with boxes, plantings, trellis, gravel, irrigation
- Fence installed around back yard
- Fire pit installed
- New furniture for front porch, back deck, back patio
- Window boxes installed on two front windows, planted, and drip irrigation system installed

It is cool that you have such a chance as in my place we don’t have such type of water and we have to water some plnats with usual tap water that we use to drink and cook.

Irrigation is one of the very important in community. We could not work for gardens,backyard
or farm without it. This is a wonderful place to live with complete amenity.
Having a good irrigation system on your lawn is a fun thing. Your kids can play in the water and your grass will look really well. It’s never bad to have an irrigation system, especially in Utah.

I have lake house that uses well water and let me tell you, we save so much on utilities. I have never had a house that utilizes irrigation water but I am sure the savings are great as well.
