See the Addendum at the bottom of the post.
Just a few days back, some well-meaning Bloggernacle folk posted elsewhere that they would have responded to an article I'd written here, if only they didn't have to register for the forum first. Realizing that we all have our crosses to bear in this life, I tried to by sympathetic.
To post on most WordPress forums, you are given three fields to fill out, every time you post:
- Name
- Website
To go through the trying process of registering for the Mormon Momma forum, you must enter:
- Email address
- Username
- Password
- Confirm password
Once your membership is confirmed (which occurs within about .078 seconds of clicking the “Proceed” button), each time you post you must enter:
- Username
- Password
Unless of course you have your preferences and/or browser set to keep you logged in until the millenium.
Anyway, I'm sorry to have prevented some of you from participating due to the extreme hardship involved. I hope you will reconsider, but until then, you will be missed!
Addendum
When this post was written, the blog comment section was modified to integrate into a discussion forum. That feature is not longer available.
Alison Moore Smith is a 61-year-old entrepreneur who graduated from BYU in 1987. She has been (very happily) married to Samuel M. Smith for 40 years. They are parents of six incredible children and grandparents to two astounding grandsons. She is the author of The 7 Success Habits of Homeschoolers.
It feels almost inane to respond to this. It’s only obvious. People need to feel some sort of responsible for what they say. They need to register. Anonymoty(spell check please!) leaves things far to open to invite hostile elements.
I just barely registered here and can tell you it was simple as any other blog.
Thank you, both. And welcome, syncbaby!
a-n-o-n-y-m-i-t-y 🙂
Out of curiosity, where was it?
I don’t know Alison, I think my pinky finger is still bruised from registering. I might need a cookie to make me feel better. Ummmm cookies!

Chocolate will definitely help.
Aha! That’s too funny.
Chocolate helps EVERYTHING!!
Hey, what’s that “sustain this” button for? Where do those votes get tallied?
Thanks.
They all go to Sustain’d, which is kind of an LDS version of Digg. If you read an article that you think other LDS folks would be interested in, please do click on the link at the bottom! It’s a fun way to spread the word about the site and to get more press for an article you like. You can also go there to vote on articles.
So I was surfing the sustain’d website and found your prayer discussion it. Yeah our new friend deeby’s comment is word for word his first post in the discussion and then he “opposed” the discussion. He seems like such a good friend to have. But yes, teh site is quite interesting.
LOL No problem. It’s his right. It also has eight sustainings. 🙂
I have wondered about that button, too. Thank you, Melinda, for asking.
