Having lost 10.9 pounds in the last four weeks—yes, you can applaud now—on a “slow carb” diet, I'm enjoying my workouts more. (Not that I'll ever really love working out, but it's much less painful when you aren't toting around as much lard in your side pocket.) I'm not ready to run another marathon (I never plan to endure that torture again, now that I have 26.2 bragging rights), but mixing up your workouts—making them fun and challenging—is a good thing for your body.
Today I learned about a new workout regimen, called Spartan Race. It's a series of serious obstacle course workouts, that meet a wide range of needs and fitness levels.
Beginner courses include a 5k sprint trail and mud runs and work up to 40+ mile events! They also have race for kids and a women's network. They have races all over the US, Canada, and the United Kingdom! The even have one in Utah on June 30th, they likely have one near you, too!
They also offer daily workouts, a weekly newsletter, and inspiring blog posts. Sign up for a race today!
Check out the Spartan Race FAQ for more info.

Unofrtunately i am not able to join the race as I am far from the place and I can not go there as it takes some months to get even visa. I wish I had a chance to join you!

I love spartans! I don’t know if I could complete the whole race but I could sure try. That sounds pretty extreme to me but hey everybody has something they love to do.

This is an awesome idea. I didn’t see one close to me, sucks. My friend does run multiple adult sports leagues, and I am going to have to bring this idea to him.

I’ve been training for a couple obstacle races this summer. Tough Mudder, Spartan Race and Warrior Dash, along with a few normal runs. Doing fitness bootcamp and trail running mostly, along with lifting weights.
Really is a great way to get in shape.

I love these cross country marathons and being a fitness freak I’m always in search of such events. Cheers for shedding 11 pounds in a month.

Training for these races are great because rather just building endurance you also need to build your overall strength (to go through the obstacles). I have been working out on breaks at the office, at home and while I’m on the road!
