Our tile installer, as I've told you before, was fabulous to work with. We used lots of tile in the house, even though we have all cement flooring. We used tile for showers, tub surrounds, and back splashes. I've told you how much I love the glass tile in our kitchen. I found variegated subway tiles on clearance and scooped up every sheet at three different Home Depot locations.
After a year of living in the house, my favorite tile accent is the square, brown, glass tile with a metallic sheen that we used on both fireplace surrounds. It's a finishing touch that positively glows.
One thing you may not know is that you can get all sorts of mosaic wall tile with metal finishes. I wouldn't want this in enormous quantities — particularly in a kitchen that had all stainless steel appliances and/or counters or other large amounts of shiny metal finishes. It could bring a very cold, sterile look. But as an accent, these tiles are just gorgeous!
Think about an antique copper, pebble finished tile or tile with mixed metal and glass. There are some gorgeous combinations available that could add a real designer feel without breaking the budget.
If you're considering an unusual tile, make sure you see it in personal and pair it up with surrounding materials. Some companies will send you mosaic tile samples for a minimal charge. Make sure you get the exact look your want.
Now the choice of tiles is so huge that you can get almost everything you want and you can even design your own patterns and orders that suit your general interior. Thanks for the advice given.
Actually, some people even use tiles for their walls and I am not talking about kitchen or bathroom walls here. They use it for indoor and exterior house walls. It could save you money because instead of repainting your walls every few years, if you put tiles and maintain them well, they will still look nice even after a few years.
I think it is truly amazing the amount of products available today. Even metal tiles, 8 years ago, there was nothing. Now the sky is the limit. Excellent article!
A tiles lover like me, My house also has its fair share of tiles and its amazing all the different colors, designs and finishing you can find on the tiles available in different stores these days.
Tiles can make the house looks pretty…if you install them in the right places.
You can use also use used tiles to decorate your walls. Artistic people can use anything and will still turn out beautiful.
I never been tried using that.Glass tile looks good compare to some other other form of tiles.Right now i am using vynil tiles.
I love the look of this! I have never thought of using tiles with a metallic finish before. Do they give off a glow when the fireplace is in us? I bet that is one of the finer points of using them around a fireplace.
