Yes, it's true! After a disappointing morning yesterday with a failed inspection, the inspector came back this morning and checked off the remaining items. We have passed the building inspection and are cleared to move in.

The occupancy permit will be issued on Monday, when the official city inspector gets back from his hunting trip.

Thanks to the cabinet maker, electrician, HVAC, plumber, landscaper, general—and especially my hard-working, always dependable, on-the-job-even-thought-it-shouldn't-have-been-his-job husband, Sam—who all did what needed to be done in short order, we are on our way!

We start packing up our suitcases and making the transition to the new house today! And my “baby” gets to have his seventh birthday in our new house! We can't wait!
