Stainless Steel Sink

I love stainless steel kitchen sinks. We have three in the new house: the huge main kitchen sink, the kitchen island sink, and the kitchenette sink in the basement.

They have a sharp, shiny, industrial look that I love. But recently a reader emailed me to ask how to clean a stainless steel sink. I love being able to address reader questions. Here's the info you asked for!

Spray down your stainless steel kitchen sink with a degreaser (I use the Clean Team's “Red Juice”). Use a white pad or even a mild dish scrubber to rub down all surfaces. Rinse with hot water.

I don't bother to wipe down my sink. I have better things to do (and it gets wet about every three minutes). But the cleaned sink dries in no time and looks gleaming.

If your sink is much dirtier, try a mild abrasive (I use the Clean Team's “Pro Scrub”). Follow the same steps to a shiny sink that looks like new.
