Today marks the beginning of a new series of goals. Each month will have a theme that I will try to use as a catalyst for life change. October 2010's theme is: Good Stuff.
Good Stuff means that I will do my best to have all the things that come into me and all the things that go out of me be things that make for a better life. That would mean saying good things, making good gestures, producing good stuff, giving good will. It also means eating good food, retaining good memories, thinking good thoughts, looking at (even negative) situations in a good way.
At a stressful time with the house and a mighty full schedule, it's easy to let the good go unnoticed. My goal this month is to work toward making my own environment, instead of letting circumstances determine how I feel and behave.
Do you have a monthly challenge? Set a goal and join me!
Happy October!
Alison Moore Smith is a 61-year-old entrepreneur who graduated from BYU in 1987. She has been (very happily) married to Samuel M. Smith for 40 years. They are parents of six incredible children and grandparents to two astounding grandsons. She is the author of The 7 Success Habits of Homeschoolers.
I guess your blood group is B+. You try to see everything through positive angle? Kidding.
Wish you good luck and expect lot of good stuff this month.
Sadly (ironically!) I’m A-. Hah!
Thought I’d report. My first 30-day challenge is about to end miserably. I have not done very well at (1) remembering my challenge and (2) following through with it.
Lesson: Covey’s “Circle of Influence.” Unfortunately, my goal was rather dependent upon many things that are completely out of my control. Trying to finish a house — depending on other people to be competent, hard-working, honest, etc. — left a lot of negative stuff flowing my way. It’s been very stressful and that stupid stuff that happened didn’t always (ever?) result in me sending out good vibes.
Thankfully, Monday is a new month and I can rework my goals.
I have been reading your blog for the last 3 days and find so much interesting topics here. I’ve bookmarked your site hoping that I can take much more benefits from you. Thank you.
