My husband it not picky and he's not demanding. If you ask him what his favorite meal is, he'll say this, “Whatever I didn't have yesterday. I just like a little variety.”
So…well…this isn't exactly the perfect meal system for him. He isn't completely on the program, but since this is what I'm fixing, it's pretty much what he's eating. And he deserves high prize for not complaining, given it's a complete 180 degrees from his easy-going preference.
I, on the other hand, could live on hot, buttered popcorn, hot cocoa and other forms of chocolate, artichokes, and liver and onions. Yes, I'm serious. If I like it, then why bother eating that other fluff.
Still, the first week foods were so easy to prepare—and they were tasty. That's about all I can ask. So I was a little sad to see them go. And I was a little sad to have to figure out new menus.
Week two menus are a little more work, or at least they feel that way to someone who despises chopping and sautéing veggies. But I did it anyway and I survived. We did, however, switch the barbecue bean dish with the crackers and cheese course…because I forgot to cook the barley. And then we were too tired (and it was too late) to eat the fish dinner, so we had a second round of the crackers and cheese instead.
I wonder just how bad that is?
