100 Day Challenge: Redemption and Second Acts

When I attended BEA a few years ago, I got a pre-publication copy of Staging Your Comeback: A Complete Beauty Revival Guide for Women Over 45 from the author, Christopher Hopkins. (Who, by the way, also gave me an eyelash curler and then said I didn't need it. Heh.)

Now, I wasn't quite 45 at the time but it was fascinating to see the before and after photos. The remarkable difference between the women made quite an impression.

Hopkins forte is teaching middle-aged to older women how do makeup that enhances their changing coloring, give them hairstyles that flattered their faces, and help with clothing that is sophisticated and age-appropriate without being stodgy.

While this book only focuses on physical appearance and makeovers, it's representative of any of us who have seen better days, who feel past our prime, or who think that our age or circumstances make it too late to live our dreams.

Sooner or later we all hit the skids. It happens to each one of us. At some point we all wind up with our backs against the wall and we need a comeback.

This lesson provides a seven rule list to move from a low point in your life to a higher one. It's never to late to make progress and to improve.

Pain, failure, loss, and embarrassment are such great motivators and you should allow adversity to force your hand to make new choices and to take new actions. Use the pain as fuel to drive your comeback. Because if you do not, it will become the fuel that perpetuates your current situation.

The choice is yours! Become a success story! Again!
