Goals are hard. Big goals are harder. If we could all lose 20 pounds in a day or two, we'd probably all be slim. But results take consistent behavior over a course of time and enduring can be an enormous obstacle.
How would you like to super charge your goals? Think about leapfrogging, defined as:
An advance from one place, position, or situation to another without progressing through all the stage in between.
Leapfrogging is a technique that moves you quickly from beginning to end, from point A to Z, without traveling through the entire alphabet to get there. It's like time travel in your goals.
How do you manage it? Leverage.
In the case of goals, the lever used to exert greater force than you could otherwise have is gained by using the knowledge, experience, success, and failures of others without having to reinvent the wheel.
One of my resolutions is to lose 20 pounds. While it's true that I can only do that by losing one, then two, then three pounds, etc. (I can't “leapfrog” from zero to 20 pounds, no matter how much I fantasize about that), I can move forward without all the trial and error and scientific research that has already been done.
As you work to create the life you dream of, dream big and bold. And use all the tool available to you to move ahead quickly.
