100 Day Challenge: Carpe Diem

I've often heard people say, “Live as if it were your last day on earth!” But that's not a motivating phrase to me because it's entirely impractical.

If today were my last day, I would not work on corporate taxes, do laundry, or pay bills. I wouldn't even homeschool my kids. The only thing I'd do would be to spend the day talking and playing with my family.

As worthwhile as that activity is, my life would be a shambles if that's all I did every hour of every day.

To “seize the day” cannot mean to sluff off your typical duties and responsibilities in order to live an idyllic day of fun and pleasure.

I prefer to read it as “seize the days.” In other words,

Identify goals and actions you are committed to achieving. Pursue victory throughout the day.

Every day of your life making forward motion toward your goals. And, yes, you really should get your hands on a copy of the Dead Poets Society to incorporate todays' challenge.

Join me in the 100 Day Challenge!
