I have great intentions. And I'm even pretty good at getting a lot of things done. My “resume” reads nicely on paper.
But what's difficult is motivating myself to do the those things that aren't really urgent and aren't really critical, but could make my life so much better.
In spite of assertions to the contrary, my goals often stay constant, just rolling from one year to the next unfinished. Sometimes I'm afraid I'll get to the end of the road, with the same list staring me in the face. And that's not where I want to be.
So here's to throwing out the excuses and justifications. Here's to realizing that the only thing that works is, well, work. And here's to a new year filled with real progress.
